"Arturo Fuente learned the art of Growing and processing tobacco and the making of premium, handmade cigars in Cuba at the end of the 19th century, producing his own line in 1923. Today, his son Carlos and grandson, Carlos, Jr., oversee the more than 500 rollers who manufacture more than 24 million cigars every year. Their line offers a medium-to-full-bodied taste, with the celebrated Hemingway series a little mellower, thanks to an additional 140 days of aging. Many of the natural-wrapped cigars (including the Hemingway series) feature Cameroon leaves, with Connecticut leaf used for maduros."
The Cuban Belicoso, Chateau Fuente, Chateau Fuente Royal Salute and Double Chateau Fuente use either Ecuadorian sun-grown, Connecticut-seed or Connecticut wrappers. In the sun-grown Ecuadorian version, these four shapes make up a subset of the line: the Fuente Sun Grown series. The Fuente Seleccion d'Oro features a Connecticut Shade wrapper in place of the usual Cameroon leaves.
Occasionally made in the Hemingway Series: Short Story (4x48), Best Seller (5x55) and Untold Story (71/2x53 with a maduro wrapper).
